I was researching about the decreased significance of the RB position, and people would often mention that they get pummelled more these days than in the past. But I came across a few anecdotes of players who used to play the fullback positions and protect the RB from the worst hits. And I think that's the difference from the older days. Fullbacks are mostly extinct in the modern league. I just have to assume that having a fullback will definitely extend the career of a running back. What do y'all think? Never thought about that in terms of RB wear-and-tear today, and I think about football a lot. There's probably truth to that. Interesting point!
